The sidebar menu

In this section, we delved into the Sidebar Menu, a crucial component of the EMS user interface. The Sidebar Menu, located on the left side of the screen, allows you to navigate seamlessly between different modules and features. It can be collapsed to provide additional space for the Main Screen Area, enhancing your workspace flexibility. Mastering the Sidebar Menu will significantly improve your ability to access and manage various aspects of the EMS efficiently.

Not All Menus Look Alike

The Sidebar Menu is tailored to fit the specific needs and permissions of each user. Depending on your role, user type, and assigned permissions, the options and modules visible in the Sidebar Menu may vary. Permissions are dictated by the company's policies and implemented by the system administrator.

Administrators will have access to a comprehensive set of features and settings, while regular users may only see the tools necessary for their tasks. Auditors, on the other hand, may have access to all areas of the system but with read-only permissions.

This customization ensures that each user has access to the relevant functionalities required for their responsibilities, streamlining their workflow and maintaining system security.

Interacting with the Menu

The logo in the topbar (1) serves as a convenient link to the EMS home page. No matter where you are in the system, clicking on the logo will instantly bring you back to the main dashboard, providing a quick way to navigate back to the starting point.

Within the Sidebar Menu, each module can be expanded or collapsed using the chevron icons (3) next to the module names. Clicking on a chevron will expand the module, revealing its contents and sub-options (4), providing easy access to all related features. Clicking the chevron again will collapse the module, hiding the detailed contents and keeping the Sidebar Menu organized and less cluttered. This feature helps users navigate through the system efficiently, focusing on the sections they need while keeping the interface clean and user-friendly.

Additionally, when the Sidebar Menu is collapsed, hovering over a module icon will temporarily open a submenu (5). This allows users to quickly access specific features within a module without needing to fully expand the menu, combining quick access with a streamlined interface. This hover functionality further enhances the user experience by providing a balance between a compact view and immediate accessibility.
