The sidebar menu
In this section, we look into the Sidebar Menu, a crucial component of the EMS user interface. The Sidebar Menu, located on the left side of the screen, allows you to navigate seamlessly between different modules and features. It can be collapsed to provide additional space for the Main Screen Area, enhancing your workspace flexibility. Mastering the Sidebar Menu will significantly improve your ability to access and manage various aspects of the EMS efficiently.
Not All Menus Look Alike
Administrators will have access to a comprehensive set of features and settings, while regular users may only see the tools necessary for their tasks. Auditors, on the other hand, may have access to all areas of the system but with read-only permissions.
This customization ensures that each user has access to the relevant functionalities required for their responsibilities, streamlining their workflow and maintaining system security.
Interacting with the Menu
The logo above the sidebar menu (1) serves as a convenient link to the EMS home page. No matter where you are in the system, clicking on the logo will instantly bring you back to the main dashboard, providing a quick way to navigate back to the starting point.
Adjacent to the logo, you'll find the hamburger icon (2), a three-lined button that controls the visibility of the Sidebar Menu. Clicking on the hamburger icon will collapse the Sidebar Menu, creating more space in the Main Screen Area. Pressing the hamburger icon again will expand the menu, restoring full access to the navigation options. This functionality enhances the flexibility and usability of the EMS interface, allowing users to adjust the layout according to their needs.
Additionally, when the Sidebar Menu is collapsed, hovering over a module icon will temporarily open a submenu (5). This allows users to quickly access specific features within a module without needing to fully expand the menu, combining quick access with a streamlined interface. This hover functionality further enhances the user experience by providing a balance between a compact view and immediate accessibility.
